Web 2.0 to E-learning 2.0

Well, here we are e-learning 2.0, a concept coined by Stephen Down its a talk of schools, colleges and universities not ignoring corporates. So whats all this about and what is e-learning 2.0.

I think there is no straight answers but perhaps its a term closely inter-related with web 2.0. I am sure we've all heard about web 2.0 (a term coined by O'reilly).

Throughout my finding about e-learning 2.0, I have seen a pattern which is developing exponantially with web 2.0.

In e-learning 2.0 we are talking about collaboration, knowledge management and communities etc. These concepts also a key to web 2.0. Well I mean these concepts can be perceived with the help of web 2.o. Blogging, podcasting all these web 2.0 trends are popularly in use in the colleges and universities. Just have a look on the evolvement of web 2.o. I fancied adding another column of this picture called e-learning 2.0.

But any way I thought I would rather write!!

Yep in e-learning 2.0 we are planning to use some of the core elements of web 2.0 such as Flickr, blogging, wikipedia, wikis, web services and tagging and I am pretty sure a lot more to come.

Software as services is a core concept of web 2.0 and my perception is its pretty handy in e-learning 2.0.
At last, a big up to big boys, boys of opensource software. Brilliant afford and I think we have an option here to widening the network and put some good work to develop LMS 2.0 and ensure further enhancement of them. ;-)
